From stones, to steam machines, to cars, to spaceships, to stones again.

As we all know, technology has truly been a blessful thing to have at our usage and disposal. If it weren't for modern technology, there would be no medicine, food, high life expectancy, quality of living, entertainment, education, communication, media, and so on. Phones, ipods, gaming consoles, computers, the media, all these things contribute to so much in our lives, and leaves us with a satisfied feeling within. But, abuse technology, and you'd be abused yourselves. This example has been proven and shown time and time again for the past hundreds of years. Wars, accidents, threats and failures have happened, and when they do, we begin to question ourselves on the reliance of technology, and sometimes we become so easily manipulated and paranoid as a result ( remember Y2K?) The past 60 years have been quite eventful. War, in the minds of some, can be blessful because new weapons and vehicles such as the tank had been created, as well as certain medicinal advances, protocols, and nation independency. But, remember how we all promised ourselves to rid of war and violence years ago, and remember the fact that it is still ongoing today. War and racial/territorial tensions have increased so substantially, that technology has vamped up to it's optimum levels, and has advanced more than ever before. Certain equipment has been created for the purpose of spying and anti spying, as well as bombing and preventing bombings. Newer weapons and chemicals such as anthrax have been discovered, and once eradicated diseases are now occuring due to the after effects of war, poverty and violence ( all these things are intertwined). But, I fear that there will be one day where technology will reach its peak, and where people will be in such fear, that they'll want to go back to using sticks and stones as their primary weapons and methods for survival again.

And so, unless people decide to cease fighting, powerful weapons and forms of technology may never cease to stop in production. There are also cons in the providence of good technology such as medicine and media. What if medicine and media advances so fast, that people forget the primary ways to obtain medicine and cure illnesses or mend wounds? What if the media begins to have such a detrimental impact on the standards of living, that it manipulates how people live, dress and eat in a way where it completely blemishes their overall uniqueness ( designer babies). So in a way, technology is a good thing to have, but one must remember to not abuse it, and to not be greedy otherwise there may be unwanted consequences to be dealt with in the end. Peace.
